Born in December, 1964 in Jiangsu Province’s Feng County, Yuan Yafei is the founder and Chairman of Sanpower Group Co., Ltd., as well as the major shareholder of several listed companies such as Hiteker (600122.SH), Nanjing Cenbest (600682.SH), IDT International (0167.HK), Jinpeng Yuankang (New Three Board 430606), Fujitsu Electronics (New Three Board 837438).

Chairman Yuan is a Member of the National Committee of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), a Standing Committee Member of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), Vice-Chairperson of China Society for Promotion of the Guangcai Program (CSPGP), and Vice-Chairman of both Jiangsu and Nanjing Federation of Industry and Commerce. The Chairman has also been invited as Special Supervisor of the Ministry of Public Security. Chairman Yuan is also a Standing Council Member of the China Enterprise Confederation (CEC) as well as the Vice President of both the China Computer Industry Association (CCIA), and the Jiangsu Informationalization Association. Chairman Yuan is a visiting professor at Nanjing University and at Southeast University.

In 2014, Yuan was awarded as an honorary “National Outstanding Builder of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics from Non-Public Sector”. He has been the recipient of various achievement awards including: Most Influential People of the 15 Years of China’s Accession to WTO, Community Benefactor of the Year, Charity Person of the Year, Brand China’s Man of the Year, Outstanding Private-Enterprise Employer, Jiangsu Province’s Contribution to Socialism Award, Jiangsu Province’s Outstanding Entrepreneur Award, and Jiangsu Province’s First Session Charitable Giving Award.

Soon after graduating from university in 1987, Chairman Yuan began his career as a public servant at the district offices of Yuhuatai Government in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. In 1993, Mr. Yuan left his post at Yuhuatai District to start Sanpower Group. Under Chairman Yuan’s leadership, Sanpower Group strives to become “a sustainably developing global conglomerate with Chinese characteristics”—a blend of traditional Chinese philosophy and modern Western management concepts. Aimed at the vision, the Group has gradually realised the strategy of “diversified investments, specialised operations” and managed to achieve significant improvement in terms of scale and market competitiveness.
