Recently, Sanpower Group has acquired the group buying website Lashou.com. After the acquisition is finished, Sanpower Group will become the owner of Lashou.com.

Lashou.com is a top group buying website in China. Officially launched on March 18, 2010, it now has nearly 80,000,000 Internet and mobile subscribers and about 100,000 participating merchants. Its annual sales revenue was over 4 billion yuan in 2013 and is estimated to reach 6 billion yuan in 2014. China Securities Regulatory Commission made it clear recently that they support Internet and high-tech enterprises which are not profitable yet to turn into GEM (Growth Enterprises Market) board after being listed on the new three board for one year, which means that the Internet and high-tech enterprises including Lashou will enjoy “Special Treatments” in the approval process of A-share IPO.

Sanpower Group is the largest shareholder of Hiteker (600122.SH) and Nanjing Xinbai (600682.SH), two A-share listed companies that mainly focus on trade & retail business. Under the group are Hisap, the biggest professional IT chain in China, Funtalk, the biggest professional telecommunications chain, Xinjiekou Department Store, one of the top ten department stores, House of Fraser, a premium department store with a history of 165 years in the UK and Brookstone, the biggest novelty product chain in the USA, owning more than 3000 retail companies at home and abroad.

Meanwhile, the Group has been expanding and strengthening on-line business actively, making sure that O2O can fly on both wings. After the Group acquires Lashou.com, it will combine the on-line resources of Lashou.com with the rich off-line entity resources of the Group via the collaboration of “Five Pulls”, which are “The Headquarter Pulls Subsidiaries, On-line Pulls Off-line, Supply Chains Pull Customers, Food and Entertainment Pulls Commodities and Group Buying Pulls Customization”. The Group will build the biggest O2O e-business platform globally based on the continuous development of group buying business.

“I never think that off-line enterprises have Internet genes, just like on-line enterprises have no retail genes”, said Chairman of Sanpower Group, Yuan Yafei. He pointed out that after Sanpower acquires Lashou.com, “the online business and offline business will not swallow each other.”

He said, “The relationship between Lashou.com and the 3000-odd off-line retail companies of Sanpower Group is neither a father-son relationship about who is in charge, nor a brotherhood relationship about intriguing against each other. Instead, it is a harmonious husband-wife relationship with equality and mutual benefits, and besides they are a working couple who have their own jobs and complementary advantages.”
