On November 6th, Yuan Yafei, Chairman of Sanpower Group, met with Dr. Bernard Harris, the former President of the American Telemedicine Association, Founder and CEO of Vesalius Ventures, at the Group headquarters. The two communicated and exchanged ideas on sharing American advanced telemedicine technology and potential cooperation in telemedicine. Tian Youzhong, Vice President of Sanpower Group and President of Healthcare Business Division and Zhao Lei, the Group Assistant President and General Manager of Sanpower Investment Company, accompanied Yuan during the reception.

Dr. Harris has a plethora of experience. He worked at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and engaged in healthcare research. He is the first black astronaut to walk in space in American history. He was the Director of the American Telemedicine Association (ATA) for a long time and held the post of President of the Association from 2011 to 2012. The American Telemedicine Association is currently the largest industry association in telemedicine and mobile medicine in the United States and the world. It aims to promote telemedicine applications and services in the United States and around the world. Vesalius Ventures, founded by Dr. Harris, is mainly engaged in venture capital activities in telemedicine, mobile medicine, healthcare informatisation and medical devices. The company provides enterprises with healthcare consultation services in telemedicine and the Chinese market.

Dr. Harris visited the Showroom of Sanpower Home and Aging Service Command Centre where he learned of the deployment and execution of Sanpower Group in the health and senior-care industry. During his talks with Yuan Yafei, Dr. Harris praised Sanpower Group for the vision in acquiring the Israeli-based Natali and the deployment of the healthcare industry and telemedicine market. He was very optimistic about the prospects of the telemedicine market in China and thought that market demands will increasingly expand. The United States possesses the latest technology in telemedicine and China has the largest market. If the two partied and worked together, then a win-win situation will be on the horizon.
