As promised, Sanpower Volunteers Society returned to Ningyan Primary School for Children of Migrant Workers in Qixia District, Nanjing On December 30. They brought the children both the “school supplies” including computers, Bluetooth speakers, humidifiers and sports equipment and the “winter must-haves”, namely hats, scarfs and gloves. These articles will help the children ward off the cold and acquire knowledge under harsh conditions.

Ningyan Primary School for Children of Migrant Workers is an “Assistance Base of Sanpower Volunteers Society” located in Qixia District. Run under difficult conditions and equipped with outdated facilities, the school receives students whose parents are mostly from the countryside of Anhui, Henan, Sichuan and northern Jiangsu. They have relatively lower income than other migrant workers in Nanjing. On Christmas Day, 2014, Yue Lei, Senior Vice President of Sanpower Group and Chairman of the Group Trade Union, led the members of Sanpower Volunteers Society to this school. Disguised as Santa Claus, Yue Lei played games with the children and brought them exquisite gifts, thus leaving a deep impression on them.

 

 

This time, the “Happy Edu-Aid Action” of Sanpower Volunteers Society was also initiated by Yue Lei who did all the preliminary work of publicity and mobilisation as well as material preparation. As planned, he was going to see these lovely children together with the volunteers on December 30. But due to a temporary change in his work schedule, he was unable to participate in the activity personally. Therefore, he specially entrusted He Xin, Vice Chairman of the Group Trade Union, and Zhang Qi, General Manager of Hisap Administration Centre, with the task to lead more than 30 volunteers from the Group and its subordinates to the school. They elaborately prepared some stationery and computers, hoping to help the children improve their educational facilities and learning environment. Besides, they also prepared a warm gift pack for each child, including an earflap hat, a scarf and a pair of gloves. “I like the colour!” “The hat is so warm!” The children chatted happily with each other. Their ringing laughter added a touch of bright colour to the cold winter.

After conveying Yue Lei’s concern and greeting, He Xin encouraged the children to study hard and acquire real abilities so as to change their fate in the future. She added that, Sanpower people always took active part in charity activities and took delight in passing on positive energy; next year, Sanpower Volunteers Society would come back to see the children again. Deng Yanxi, Principal of Ningyan Primary School for Children of Migrant Workers, expressed thanks to Sanpower Group for its long-term assistance. He said that since the launch of the assistance activity, Sanpower Volunteers Society had continuously provided the school with software and hardware supports, including many materials such as computers. It was their loving hearts that helped the children here receive the same education as other children under the same sky.

 

 

The “Happy Edu-Aid Action” was the last activity of Sanpower Volunteers Society in 2015. Founded in 2013, Sanpower Volunteers Society organised a series of successful activities this year. In March, Hiteker Party Branch Volunteers Society took part in the National Tree-Planting Day Activity and planted saplings on Jiangjun Mountain. In April, the Group organised a spring outing for employees, during which their first stop was the Central Home for the Aged in Zhongbao Town, Xinghua City where they brought gifts and happiness to those elderly people living alone. In April, Hirealty Party Branch Volunteers Society led the elderly people of Guoyue Yuhua Nursing Home in Nanjing to Nanjing China Green Expo Garden for a spring outing. In November, Sanpower Group held a blood drive, in which the total volume of blood donated by 162 people reached 45,200 ml... Over the past 22 years, Yuan Yafei, Chairman of Sanpower Group, has always taken active part in programs for public good while adhering to the philosophy that “the achievements in development should be returned to society first”. Sanpower Group has made outstanding contributions to supporting poor students to finish school, improving the living standards of needy families, developing education in poverty-stricken areas, protecting wild animals, etc.

 

The public welfare undertaking of Sanpower Group yielded fruitful results in 2015. Chairman Yuan Yafei was elected Vice President of China Society for Promotion of the Guangcai Program. During Xi Jinping’s visit in the UK, Yuan Yafei and Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, signed the memorandum of understanding on their cooperation in the Wildlife Protection Foundation program. “A strong enterprise has the present, while a responsible enterprise has the future.” The public welfare undertaking of Sanpower Group will step on a more wonderful journey in 2016.
