On 13 June, the opening ceremony of Talent Attracting Project’s seventh event, hosted by the Zhi Gong Party’s Jiangsu provincial Party committee of and Central Overseas Students’ Committee, was held in Nanjing. More than 70 top-level overseas talents from 16 countries gathered in Nanjing. An inspection tour to view Jiangsu’s innovation and entrepreneurial environment will be undertaken. Notable attendees of the event included: Cao Hongming, Vice Chairman of the Zhi Gong Party’s Central Committee and Secretary-General; Ma Jianguo, CPPCC Vice Chairman of Jiangsu Province and Chairman of the Zhi Gong Party’s Jiangsu provincial Party committee; Xu Jinhui, Municipal Standing Committee member of Nanjing and Minister of the United Front Work Department; Wang Yaoqiang Deputy Inspector of the United Front Work Department of the Jiangsu provincial Party committee; Zhao Xiaoping Deputy Inspector of the Zhi Gong Party’s Propaganda Department’s Central Committee; Hu Qingang, Vice Chairman of the Zhi Gong Party’s Jiangsu provincial Party committee and Chairman of Nanjing municipal Party committee; Wu Xiaobei, Deputy Secretary-General of CPPCC of Jiangsu Province and Vice Chairman of the Zhi Gong Party’s Jiangsu provincial Party committee; Mao Weihua, Vice Minister of United Front Work Department of Nanjing municipal Party committee and Secretary of municipal Federation of Industry and secretary Commerce Party Committee; and Chen Xuan and Liang Jie, Vice Chairmans of the Zhi Gong Party’s Nanjing municipal Party committee. Yang Huaizhen, President of Sanpower Group attended the event as the only enterprise representative and inaugurated the “service station for overseas top-level talent” together with Cao Hongming.

Talent Attracting Project is a public welfare activity implemented by the Zhi Gong Party’s Jiangsu provincial Party committee and Central Overseas Students Committee for serving the development of top-level overseas students. It has been held for six sessions until now. It arranged for 318 PhDs from more than 20 countries and regions to carry out on-the-spot inspection of the province’s innovation Parks, large-scale enterprises, colleges, universities and research institutes. More than 70 talented individuals stayed in Jiangsu and more than 120 chose to return home to work on development.

The seventh event this year invited 74 overseas PhDs from 16 countries and regions to take part. It focused on inspecting innovation and entrepreneurial environments in four cities: Nanjing, Yancheng, Huaian and Suqian. It held four discussion meetings to update talented individuals on projects and attracted nearly 200 talent introduction units to develop profound and efficient exchanges.

Cao Hongming, Vice Chairman of the Zhi Gong Party’s Central Committee and Secretary-General said in the speech that since it was held in 2010, Talent Attracting Project has played a positive role in introducing top-level overseas talent and projects as well as promoting exchanges and cooperation at home and abroad. He declared that this has been an important function of the Zhi Gong Party. He encouraged overseas students to combine realizing personal value with making a contribution to the country and to make unremitting efforts toward the Chinese dream of rejuvenating the nation.

Ma Jianguo, CPPCC Vice Chairman of Jiangsu Province and Chairman of the Zhi Gong Party’s Jiangsu provincial Party committee said that in the future, Talent Attracting Project will strive to introduce overseas talent to bases back home, retain talent and their minds, be an “assistor” of talent development and create a “gas station” for talent growth.

To serve overseas talent better, at the opening ceremony, the Zhi Gong Party’s Nanjing Municipal Party committee cooperated with Sanpower Group to found the “service station for overseas top-level talent” initiative. Vice Chairman of the Zhi Gong Party Central Committee Cao Hongming and President of Sanpower Group Yang Huaizhen inaugurated the service station together. The service station mainly provided a later-period service aimed at providing for all kinds of conditions met by overseas students returning home. The Sanpower Group strongly supported the foundation of “service station for overseas top-level talents”, not only providing an activity site for the service station, but also providing a platform for exchange and communication between top-level domestic and overseas talent and between them and enterprises.

In recent years, the overseas M&A activities of Sanpower Group have been growing vigorously. “To forge iron, you need a strong hammer.” For many of Sanpower’s M&A activities, talent is the development cornerstone. To implement the work of a large number of M&A activities also needs a large number of excellent overseas talents. Sanpower introduced the addition of excellent overseas talent at an early stage. They have realized the win-win of personal value and corporate value generally in Sanpower. Yang Huaizhen said that he hoped that more overseas top-level talent will be attracted by the Project to realize this dream together.
