At 10 AM Pacific Time on May 26th, Tmall announced its decision for building a “Tmall New Product Lab” which is a R&D center for consumer-centric cutting-edge technologies in the next 20 years and will devote itself to launch prospective goods symbolizing the future of new commerce and new retail industry. Brookstone and more than 10 other world’s top technology companies and labs including such as Intel, 3M, IDEO, Microsoft, and Radius which are specialized in NASA UAV(drone) technology, AR, AI, wearable devices and other technologies have become the first group of members of “Tmall New Prodct Lab”. Brookstone will collaborate with those companies on collecting prospective core technologies and making basic scientific researches in order to offer new products to Chinese “hand-chopping customers” which referred to big online spenders.
As an US novelty products brand with 52 years history,
Brookstone provides all sorts of unique-design, hard-to-find and high quality
products with multi functions which help to solve problems in people’s daily
life. Brookstone has its own R&D center established in the state of New
Hampshire of USA and is supported by a team of mechanists, electrical engineers,
industrial designers, quality control specialists, and product managers and an
IDG R&D center with
more than 1000 workers. Brookstone is always keen on maintaining a close
relationship with many R&D centers around the world. In 2015, Brookstone
formed the strategic partnerships with eminent scientific research and
innovation institution “MIT Media Lab” and Indiegogo, the second largest
crowdfunding platform in USA. They work together to deliver creator’s product
launch services called “Brookstone Launch” which helps creators to turn their
innovative ideas into products in a fastest way and sell their products on Brookstone’s
online and offline channels. Chinese creators can also take full advantage of
this platform and promote their products to US or other markets around the
world with least time.
This is not the first cooperation between Brookstone and Tmall. On March
13rd of this year Brookstone flagship shop has officially launched on Tmall. Last
may, Brookstone set up its cross-border online shop on Tmall HK.
