June 26 saw the opening of China-Sweden Innovation Forum in Beijing, which was co-hosted by Swedish Embassy in China, Sweden-China Trade Council and All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce. The 250 participants from business communities in China and Sweden had in-depth discussions about “joint commitment to sustainable development”. Sweden Statsminister Konungariket Sverige and Vice Chairman Xiangba Pingcuo of NPC Standing Committee addressed the Forum. Sanpower President Yang Huaizhen and VP Jing Tian were invited to the Forum.

The sub-forum has the topic of “cycle economy and sustainable consumption”. As the representative of Chinese enterprises, Yang Huaizhen introduced to the participants about advantages and practice of Sanpower in the field.

Yang Huaizhen said Sanpower is dedicated to developing cycle economy and sustainable consumption. In particular in the field of life science, Sanpower uses its umbilical cord blood resources to cure cancer and other diseases through R&D and application. The business has strong charity features. Yang Huaizhen believes healthcare should not be deemed as pure business. Instead, it has great social values. For instance, the stem cell resources in umbilical cord blood stored and owned by Sanpower can provide umbilical cord blood matching for patients with leukemia or other blood diseases, which perfectly interprets our comprehension and execution of share economy. When operating the umbilical cord blood bank, we not only focus on extracting, preparing and storing stem cells. We have also extended to development of immune-cell therapies and life science with higher values. As a result, operation of blood bank is to realize greater social values. On the other hand, realizing social values and commercial values actually complement each other.

The participants praised Sanpower for its efforts, hoping China and Sweden can cooperate on healthcare and health projects for the benefit of the society.
