Sanpower Group, which drew much attention in 2014 by a series of generous acquisitions, has bought Shenzhen China Public Procurement Pay Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as: CPP Pay) during the Spring Festival of the Year of Goat. Holding the third-party payment licence, CPP Pay will add new strength to the Group's e-commerce layout.

It is learned that founded in 2009, CPP Pay was granted the third-party payment licence in July 2014 by the People's Bank of China (or the Central Bank). As a professional independent third-party payment platform in China, it currently has the the Internet, fixed telephone and mobile phone payment licences. The Company has established an integrated payment platform that combines the diversified means of payment, including Internet, mobile phone, telephony and offline terminal, and mainly serves large government agencies like China Public Procurement Platform.

As of now, the Central Bank has issued nearly 300 third-party payment licences. With the development of third-party payment, mobile payment has become an arena of paramount strategic importance. However, the threshold for applying for third-party payment is fairly high with long-haul approval. For enterprises that are in urgent need of this resource, therefore, buying a firm with the third-party payment licence turns out a shortcut to save time and save. Sanpower Group's frequent M&As over the past year have basically established the developing philosophy of "based on M&As and aided by investments", and the M&A logic of "complementing and synergising the existing businesses". The acquisition of CPP Pay is no exception.

It is reported that after the acquisition, Sanpower Group plans to apply the third-party payment system of CPP Pay to the payment scenario of Sanpower. Sanpower Group owns e-commerce platforms like Lashou.com and ; meanwhile it will extend other areas of consumer finance in the future, as well as upgrade the payment of retail physical stores of Hisap, Nanjing Cenbest, Funtalk Telecommunications, etc.
