To meet the high standard and multi-level medical requirements of the public, the municipal government has decided to set the tumour hospital in our city as a pilot restructuring enterprise and establish a modern general hospital under the new joint-stock system in the North district, jointly with other two large enterprises, the provincial people’s hospital and Sanpower Group, by taking the advantage of their strength, brand and good faith. On the morning of 6th May, the signing ceremony of cooperation agreement for constructing a joint-stock hospital in North district of Xuzhou has been conducted by the lake of Da Long. This is an important step for our city in promoting the reform of medical and health care system and constructing regional medical and health care centres.
 
The Officials of municipal government, Cao Xinping, Li Yan, and Yuan Yafei, the Chairman of Sanpower Group, Wang Hong, the president of provincial people's hospital have attended the signing ceremony.
 
The joint-stock hospital to be constructed in the North district of Xuzhou city under this agreement is classified as a modern general hospital of grade III-A, located on the extension of Shengtaiyuan Zhongshan North Road in Gulou district, with the construction scale of 1,500 beds. It is expected to be completed and put into use by the end of 2016.
 
Cao Xinping, the Party secretary, stated in his speech that it is concerning the overall strategy of economic and social development and the plans of improving people's living standard to build a top-level regional medical centre with optimised layout and full range of functions. This time, we cooperate with our strategic partners to construct a joint-stock hospital in North district and jointly build this large modern general hospital, that is not only being innovative on the ownership system, but also effectively introducing the competition mechanism; moreover providing the people of our city with a brand-new mode of medical service.
 
Cao Xinping said the municipal Party committee and government will be serious in performing the cooperation agreement to provide full support to a smooth implementation of this hospital project. At the same time, we also hope that the provincial people's hospital and Sanpower Group could make the planning and design of the hospital from a high starting point, implement the construction of the project in high quality and improve the hospital management to a high level, therefore to ensure that a large internationalised modern general hospital with distinctive features to be built as scheduled and to provide a better service to the people in our city and huaihai economic zone.
