Aug. 12 - Nanjing Federation of Industry and Commerce and Nanjing Foreign Affairs Office held the "One Belt, One Road" forum in Sanpower Group, with the goal of building a platform for Nanjing-based private enterprises that hope to "go global" to communicate with each other.

The forum invited a number of business officials from the consulates general in Shanghai and representatives from commercial institutions, most of whom were from countries along the "One Belt, One Road", to introduce the investment environment and policies of the countries to over 20 representatives of private enterprises in Nanjing. At the forum, Chairman of Sanpower Group Yuan Yafei analysed that domestic enterprises' "going global" will generate win-win effects for enterprises, China as well as foreign countries: it helps enterprises turn around and upgrade, thereby "overtaking around the curve"; China's retail industry's going global will also help its manufacturing industry go global; in addition, the country's enterprises will integrate global supply chain and enhance efficiency. Yuan noted that by putting forward the "One Belt, One Road" national strategy, China intends to develop reciprocal partnerships with countries along the Belt. In the new era, having become an important force in foreign relations, private enterprises  will, as Yuan asserted at the forum, fare better with the guidance of the "One Belt, One Road" strategy. Yuan also hoped that all countries would open the door for China's private enterprises for better cooperation.

Relevant leaders of Nanjing municipal government hoped that by virtue of such a platform as was built by Nanjing Federation of Industry and Commerce and Nanjing Foreign Affairs Office, private entrepreneurs could establish contacts with the business office of each country's consulate general in Shanghai, so as to seek development opportunities and achieve turnaround and upgrade.
