On 22 September London Time, “Time for Change” historic global event took place at the Shard, a well-known building in London, to arouse the awareness of African wildlife protection. Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, delivered a keynote speech televised through social media. Aiming at the current situation and challenge of wildlife protection, he called on all sides to work harder and move faster in all-out efforts to combat illegal wildlife trade.

As a newly-appointed ambassador of United for Wildlife (UfW) this year, Yue Lei, Senior Vice President of Sanpower Group, attended this event and exchanged opinions with William on the work at present and in the coming period. He showed some photos featuring the public welfare promotion campaign of British-style taxi cabs in Nanjing. In association with the Organizing Committee of Nanjing Week, the London Design Festival, Sanpower has recently organized the campaign to further introduce Nanjing to the world.

The speech of Prince William, President of UfW, called for an action to intensify wildlife protection before the opening of the Conference of the Parties to CITES. According to Yue, in 2015, Yuan Yafei, Chairman of Sanpower and Prince William jointly initiated the Wildlife Protection Foundation against the behavior of poaching African iconic animals and illegally trading animal body tissues across the border. Yue was appointed an ambassador of UfW as the first Chinese ambassador after international celebrities like Prince William, Prince Harry and David Beckham, to contribute the power of China to global wildlife protection.

Following his speech, Prince William talked with Yue cordially, speaking highly of his efforts since assuming his office as ambassador, expecting him to work harder and pool more strength for wildlife protection efforts. They also discussed the plan of visiting Africa and looked forward to the visit.
