In March 2016, Yue was appointed as UfW Ambassador, the first Chinese honored. Since assuming the office, with the strong support of Sanpower and related sides, he has promoted wildlife protection in China, contributing the “Chinese power” and “Chinese plan” to the philanthropic program. He made presentations on wildlife protection in China; negotiated with the ambassadors of Botswana and Zimbabwe in China on how to establish a civil cooperation mechanism; launched a wildlife protection poster design campaign in association with the Organizing Committee of the Nanjing Week, London Design Festival, held the public welfare taxi cab launch ceremony at Sanpower’s headquarters, and promoted wildlife protection through British-style taxi cabs in Nanjing.
After receiving this award, Yue delivered a keynote speech on wildlife protection, “An honor is one-off, but a mission is persistent. Plenty of efforts lead to an honor, but an honor calls for plenty of efforts,” said him, calling for all to pay attention to and support wildlife protection, especially the protection of endangered species such as elephant, rhino, tiger and panda. “According to statistics, there are currently 794 endangered wildlife species in the world,” he noted, emphasizing, “We do not expect our generation to helplessly watch these iconic wildlife animals become specimens and fossils.” He spoke out, “Though we cannot change the past, we can change the present and the future! Most importantly, we must unify our thinking, work together, and keep sending Chinese signals and power to every corner of the world!”
