In the afternoon of July 10th, the Sanpower Group donated RMB 1,000,000 in student grants to the Xinjiang Yili Prefecture Zhaosu Town Tugeleqin School, in order to help the school construct a new teaching building and improve school-running conditions. The donation ceremony attracted the attendance of Liu Qinghao, lieutenant governor of Yili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture, along with Re Hati, Chen Lin, Dou Yonggang, and Wei Chunyan, all leaders of Zhaosu County, and Xu Yong, deputy director general of the Public Relations and Administration Center of the Sanpower Group. At the donation ceremony, the Sanpower Group and Zhaosu municipality signed the donation agreement, and Chen Lin, deputy secretary of the County Party Committee, issued a contract for Honorary President of Tugeleqin School to Yuan Yafei, Chairman of the Sanpower Group.

    Zhaosu Town is a poverty-stricken town of in the autonomous region,  where local farmers and herders rely on developing traditional livestock husbandry and crop farming. With limited financial resources, the investment in basic education is simply insufficient, and many schoolhouses are long neglected and in disrepair, including the Zhaosu town Tugeleqin School. Zhaosu has the most abundant rainfall in the Yili river valley area, and often rains several times in one day. Each time it rains, “drizzle” comes through the inside of the schoolhouse at Tugeleqin School, severely affecting students’ study and life. Mr. Yuan Yafei, Chairman of the Sanpower Group, heard about the hard-pressed circumstances of Tugeleqin School by chance, and determined to donate RMB1,000,000 to the school immediately for the construction of new teaching buildings, improving the school conditions, and for creating a brighter future for the children.

     In order to express their gratitude to Mr. Yuan Yafei for his support and assistance to the educational undertakings of Zhaosu, Tugeleqin School will be renamed as Yafei Hope Primary School. This case demonstrates the Sanpower Group's warmhearted promotion of public welfare, and its willing undertaking of its social responsibilities. After 20 years of development and construction, the Sanpower Group has donated more than RMB 200 million  accumulatively to specific public welfare causes, through charitable contributions, for earthquake relief work, in providing better education and in assisting the poor.
