On August 31st, the “2013 China Top 500 Enterprises Conference and China Large Enterprises Summit” was held in Kunming, Yunnan province, attracting tsuch leaders as Wang Zhongyu, president of the China Enterprise Confederation, Qin Guangrong, secretary of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee, and Zhang Tianxin, secretary of the Kunming Municipal Party Committee, as well as leaders of the China Top 500 Enterprises, renowned experts and academics, and media representatives. The Summit saw the announcement of the “2013 China Top 500 Enterprises,” as released by the China Enterprise Confederation and Chinese Enterpreneurs' Association. The Sanpower Group ranked in 205th place of China's 2013 Top 500 Enterprises, three places higher than that of the previous year, and ranked in 76th place of China's 2013 Top 500 Service Enterprises.
The 2013 threshold for accession into China's Top 500 Enterprises was raised to 19.867 billion renminbi, representing an increase of 13.48%. The overall scale of member enterprises has continued to grow, but since the international financial crisis, China's Top 500 Enterprises' growth rate in operating revenue has slowed considerably. The total operating revenue and assets of China's 2013 Top 500 Enterprises increased by 11.41% and 15.99%, while the growth rates decreased by 12.22% and 4.41% respectively.
The rankings of China's Top 500 Enterprises are determined by the China Enterprise Confederation in accordance with international common practice, and based on enterprise sales revenue or operating revenue, as volunteered by the enterprise and then confirmed by a third party. Thanks to this, comprehensive and comparative analysis is conducted on China's Top 500 Enterprises and the Global Top 500 Enterprises before appropriate countermeasures and suggestions are put forward on how to stimulate enterprises to stronger, larger, and enduring development. Since 2005, the China Enterprise Federation has used the same criteria to also rank China's Top 500 Manufacturing Enterprises and China's Top 500 Service Enterprises annually.
