On January 22, 2015, Mr. Rupert Hoogewerf (Chinese name: Hurun), the founder of the famous magazine Hurun Report, visited Sanpower Group, and held talks with Chairman Yuan Yafei. Yue Lei, Vice President of the Group, received Mr. Hoogewerf and his entourage.

Accompanied by Yue Lei, Hoogewerf visited the the Showroom of Sanpower Home and the scenic headquarters park. Yue Lei introduced Sanpower's history, strategic philosophy, as well as the relevant information regarding the acquisition of the UK's most time-honoured department store House of Fraser. Strolling about the charming headquarters park of Sanpower, Hoogewerf expressed his surprise and admiration for Sanpower Group's international development.

In his meeting with Chairman Yuan Yafei, Hoogewerf said that he founded the platform of Hurun Report in 1999, and has been keeping an eye on Sanpower Group for 5 years. However, it never occurred to him that Sanpower should have generously bought House of Fraser and completed the largest ever direct foreign investment in retail in mainland China's enterprises. Hoogewerf and Chairman Yuan Yafei discussed the important role of China's traditional culture and education in business development and internationalisation, and exchanged views on the transformation of business model in the age of the Internet.
