July 4 - China Newsweek owned youyisi.cn and "Oh! Not a Gallery" (an art gallery) jointly held the second International Space-out Competition in the Place of Beijing, aiming to let people relax themselves from the stresses of work.

It is reported that the competition attracted 80 candidates with diverse professions; among them are PRs in foreign enterprises, yoga teachers, actors, engineers, to name but a few. In the competition, the candidates sat still for 2 hours, oblivious to the distractions of their surroundings. They cleared their mind, simply enjoying staring blankly.  Besides, they were required to be clad in garments that indicated their occupations, identities and characters.

The competition did not simply grade the candidates by "who sat longer"; instead, it took both their heart rates and audience's votes into account. In so doing, the contestants not only savoured the relaxing moments of staring blankly, but also got the audience involved in this fun event.

Wang Chenbo, head of China Newsweek, was in charge of the competition. He noted that once a fairly commonplace practice, staring blankly has now become a luxury because of the fast pace of modern life. As the organiser of the competition, China Newsweek owned youyisi.cn is the very pioneer committed to seeking for such "luxury" in modern life.
