Jenners, a House of Fraser-owned department store in Scotland’s capital Edinburgh, has become the official retail partner of the Edinburgh International Festival for the fourth consecutive year. After the festival culminated in the “Lanark” show on August 2nd, a banquet party was held at the hall of Jenners, with over 400 VIP customers, performers, guests and sponsors in attendance to share the feast.
Held every August since its inauguration in 1947, the Edinburgh International Festival is one of the world’s most time-honoured and largest international arts festival. It pools the world’s top music, drama and opera performances and attracts a large influx of tourists and artists from all over the world, metamorphosing this ancient city into a bustling art metropolis.
House of Fraser (HoF), the 166-year-old British store, acquired Jenners in 2006. Jenners has more than one hundred brands in stock, including not only the internationally renowned designer products, but also assorted Scottish-style commodities. Widely covered by local media, the festival is of great significance in inheriting Scottish culture and history as well as enhancing Jenners’ brand influence.
It is learned that each year the Chinese government sends art ensembles to the Edinburgh Arts Festival. As this year is the China-Britain Culture Year, the program list contains many elements that are typical of Chinese culture, which have aroused warm responses in the festival.
