Sept. 5 - Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn attended Jiangsu-Ethiopia Investment Forum in Nanjing, and thereafter met privately with Yue Lei, Senior Vice President of Sanpower Group. The two sides conducted consultations on business and trade cooperation; besides, Sanpower Group planned to invest in Ethiopia later.
Currently, Sanpower Group is developing internationally, with its overseas businesses booming in Britain, the United States, Israel, the United Arab Emirates, etc. In the process of its globalisation, Sanpower also chooses Africa as a destination to expand its businesses. Ethiopia is Africa’s fastest growing economy, with rich resources, political stability, a young population and social harmony. Since August, Yue Lei has met twice with Consul General of Ethiopia Yohannes Fanta Wolde Giorgis, and discussed with the latter on areas of cooperation, thus laying a vital foundation for the success of the talk on September 5.
Hailemariam noted that Sanpower Group is accelerating its pace of globalisation, and plans to promote businesses in Africa. He believed that investing in Ethiopia would be a fairly right strategy, and thereby sincerely invited Chairman of Sanpower Group Yuan Yafei to visit Ethiopia and hold in-depth negotiations on agriculture, tourism, joint exploitation of energy, etc.
Yue Lei pointed out that Ethiopia will be Sanpower’s priority choice as it invests in the African region. In addition, Sanpower is willing to strengthen cooperation with Ethiopia in modern agriculture, infrastructure, tourism development, energy and resource exploitation, etc., with the goal of achieving mutual benefits.
