Recently, Yue Lei, SVP of Sanpower Group, was elected as Vice President of the Fifth Council of Jiangsu Overseas Exchange Association (JOEA).

Founded in 1992, JOEA is a non-profit social organisation formed by overseas Chinese, compatriots in Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan and various associations that have close relations with Jiangsu, as well as the departments involving overseas Chinese affairs and renowned enterprises in Jiangsu. Up to now, JOEA has attracted a host of high-level talents from overseas who started and developed their business in Jiangsu. Meanwhile, it has promoted the exchanges and cooperation between Jiangsu and other places around the world in multiple fields such as economy & trade, science & technology, culture and tourism, so as to look for overseas markets and resources for those state-owned and private enterprises in Jiangsu to go global.

As a local private enterprise of Jiangsu, Sanpower Group made an accurate judgment about the economic development trends at home and abroad and completed a series of overseas acquisitions in the past few years. Sanpower Group and its subsidiaries successively purchased such renowned overseas enterprises as Mecox Lane, the first stock of China’s E-commerce listed in NASDAQ, House of Fraser, the British quintessential department store, Brookstone, America’s largest novelty chain, and Natali, Israel’s largest senior care service company. In this way, Sanpower expanded its business to North America, Europe and the Middle East, laying a foundation for its international layout.

Sanpower Group has taken active steps to “go global”. While exploring overseas markets to make its business international, Sanpower has vigorously launched public external exchanges. Mainly responsible for the Group’s external exchanges and cooperation, Yue Lei has actively promoted the exchanges and cooperation between Sanpower Group and overseas government organisations, industrial associations, chambers of commerce and enterprises. In particular, during the 2015 UK-China Year of Cultural Exchange, Sanpower Group carried out a series of exchanges with the UK by starting from its participation in “The GREAT Festival of Creativity” as a Chinese partner. During Chairman Xi Jinping’s visit in the UK this October, Prince William and Sanpower Group Chairman Yuan Yafei jointly launched the Wildlife Protection Foundation and officially signed the Memorandum of Understanding, which became another great achievement in the people-to-people diplomacy of China and the UK. In all of these activities, enterprises of Jiangsu represented by Sanpower Group have established a good image in their overseas exchanges.

Yue Lei has repeatedly stressed, “Sanpower Group’s development and practice has proved that an enterprise’s growth is closely linked with international exchanges and cooperation as well as international markets.” In the future, Sanpower Group will continue to deploy its public external exchanges as a whole and further expand its circle of friends and influence in the world while taking Nanjing Public Diplomacy Association and JOEA respectively as the bridge and the bond.
