On December 14, Erick Thohir, one of the owners of Indonesia’s largest conglomerate Astra International and President of Inter Milan, visited Sanpower Group, accompanied by Glenn Sugita his Investment Director and Sugiono Wiyono, Director of Mobile Phone Sector. Thohir has made remarkable achievements in media operation and sports investment. He founded Mahaka Media which has become one of Indonesia’s largest media companies with business units of magazine, newspaper, radio, television, etc. Besides, he purchased multiple football and basketball clubs in America as well as 70% of the stock shares of Inter Milan. As introduced by Thohir, besides M&A activities, he also employed the executives of renowned companies such as Apple and Puma and let them participate in the team management of Inter Milan. In this way, Inter Milan has developed into an international brand by expanding its business beyond the limits of a football club and creating more derivative products. In Thohir’s view, Inter Milan and Brookstone (purchased by Sanpower) are both international brands which have developed rapidly in their international expansion. Moreover, he warmly invited Chairman Yuan Yafei to visit and invest in Indonesia.
