Sanpower Group representative attends the 9th Asian Financial Forum

On January 18, the 9th Asian Financial Forum kicked off in Hong Kong, which was co-organised by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC). During the 2-day forum under the theme of “Asia: Shaping the New Paradigm for Growth”, over 90 leaders and experts in the finance sector from all over the world were invited to give speeches at the forum, during which they analysed the global economic situation, dissected the investment market and explored new opportunities for investment from the Asian perspective. On behalf of the Group, Yue Lei, Senior Vice President of Sanpower Group attended the forum as invited.
Vincent Lo Hong-shui, Chairman of the HKTDC gave the opening speech. He noted that as we enter the new year, with unstable geopolitical situation, financial market fluctuations and the drop in commodity prices, it will still be a challenge for the world to achieve continuous economic recovery. He pointed out that Asia, especially China is still the drive of the global economic growth. The “Belt and Road Initiative” led and initiated by China as well as the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) will definitely facilitate the development of Asia.
Leung Chun-ying, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region gave an opening address. Liu Zhenmin, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PRC and Arkady Dvorkovich, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation also gave their keynote speeches at the forum. In the dialogue part of the forum later, government dignitaries and business leaders from China, the EU, Sweden, Thailand, Malaysia, Dubai, Hungary and other countries gave their opinions on Asia’s economic growth.
Sanpower Group started to implement its strategy of international development in 2014. Over the recent years, it has made great progress in the international development of both its business and efforts in public service. It has expanded its business into North America, Europe, Middle East and other areas, gaining some international influence. Yue Lei attended this Asian Financial Forum on behalf of Sanpower Group. He said that it was a perfect time for the Asian Financial Forum to be held after the AIIB had just opened on January 16. Under the theme of “Asia: Shaping the New Paradigm for Growth”, the forum this year looked forward to the year 2016: The global economy still faces numerous difficulties; the policies of major economies have been polarising; bulk commodities have been suffering a drop; geopolitical conflicts have also been increasing the volatility in the financial market. With a great success, this forum aims to incorporate global wisdom to positively boost the world economic growth from the Asian perspective, using the power and plans of Asia.
