2015 has been another great year in the history of Sanpower, during which the Group developed well with its ideas of “international Sanpower”, “Sanpower in turnaround” and “Sanpower for public service”, achieved great progress in the three industries and five sectors, and reached “a hundred billion” yuan in both its assets and turnover. The Sanpower brand has become well known globally. On January 29, the grand 2015 Annual Review & Awards Conference of Sanpower Group was held at the Group’s Headquarters Building. President Yang Huaizhen gave a speech titled “2015 Work Report” and gave compliments to excellent teams and employees of Sanpower Group both at home and abroad. Yuan Yafei, Chairman of the Group gave a passionate speech, setting the tone for the development of Sanpower in 2016. Yue Lei, Senior Vice President of the Group presided over the conference. 90,000 Sanpower employees all over the world witnessed the glory of Sanpower together, creating new miracles.
As the Group develops fast, review & awards conferences of Sanpower Group have also been constantly creating new records. As to the conference this year, there were 49 sub-venues all over the world, covering Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macao, as well as seven foreign cities including London, Los Angeles, Abu Dhabi and others. Simultaneous interpretation was used to break the language barrier. Overseas employees overcame the difficulties in locations and different time zones, joining the grand event together with all other staff all over the world. There were attendees more than ever before. Hisap and Funtalk Telecommunications set nearly 600 video stations at their stores in various provinces in China, allowing nearly 5,000 frontline employees to watch the live broadcast at the same time.
Summary of 2015 and vision for 2016
Yang Huaizhen, President of Sanpower Group first gave a speech titled 2015 Work Report, enumerating the Group’s achievement in its plan of the “three industries and five sectors” in 2015, the “Year of Synergy”, as well as the progress in pushing the strategy of “Seven Factors and Three Sheets” (i.e., Seven Factors of Sanpower Management System, and Work Supervision Sheet, Synergy Sheet, Work Contact Sheet) and improving the mechanism for management control. More importantly, she talked about the arrangement for the key work of 2016. According to Yang Huaizhen, preliminary synergy has been implemented throughout Sanpower Group in 2015; both the total assets and annual turnover of the Group have exceeded 100 billion yuan. She said 2016 is the “Year of Implementation”, in which all staff should work together to strive for “development”, going to all lengths to implement the Seven Factors of Sanpower Management System and trying to make new breakthroughs in the three industries.
After two years of M&A activities as well as synergy, the overseas companies in Sanpower Group have gradually integrated into the big family of Sanpower. Representatives from overseas companies also gave their speeches. Mr. Frank Slevin, Executive Chairman at House of Fraser said that Sanpower Group is a powerful platform having aroused the ambition of the executives in overseas companies, that everything is possible here. Risks are just opportunities. While others turn around and leave, we should confront them.
Mr. FOO Piau Phang, Senior Vice President of Sanpower Group delivered a video speech on behalf of Brookstone, saying that Brookstone has always been a symbol of innovation and novelty to consumers in the USA or other countries. In 2016, Brookstone will go to all lengths in cooperating with all of the subsidiaries of Sanpower and seeking more fields for synergy.
Mr. Nimrod, CEO of Natali Israel noted that one of the secrets of Sanpower Group’s success is its professional team composed of talent both at home and abroad. He said the staff of Natali will also work hard unremittingly to advance the development of Natali China, introduce the business experience and best cases of Natali into the Chinese market, and use the cutting-edge technologies of Natali to help Sanpower Group become a leading enterprise in China’s healthcare and senior-care sectors.
After that, President Yang Huaizhen signed the 2016 Commitment on Business Goals with heads of seven subsidiaries.
Honour of 2015 and Glory of 2016
As an important part of this review & awards conference, Yang Huaizhen, Party Secretary and President of the Group read out The decision on awarding the advanced CPC organisations and excellent CPC members in 2015 by the Sanpower Branch of the CPC committee and The decision on awarding excellent teams and employees of Sanpower Group in 2015. Leaders at the VIP seats presented the honour certificates and medals to these excellent teams and staff.
The winner of the “Yuan Yafei Award”, the most important award this year, is Liu Ping, Vice President of Hisap. Chairman Yuan Yafei presented the award to Liu Ping in person. Liu Ping has been working at Sanpower for just over a year. Reminisced about her stories of how to integrate into Sanpower, she shared two words. The first one is “trust”. As to leaders’ instruction, we should implement it without doubts even if we don’t understand it, and keep trying to understand it in the process of implementation. The second is “learn”. The fast development of Sanpower Group gives every employee great opportunities of learning.
Chen Jin, President of Guangzhou Jinpeng which has been awarded the 2015 Outstanding Enterprise in Sales Growth, gave a speech after receiving the award. Chen Jin said not only will Jinpeng maintain the momentum of sales growth and ensure a good start of the three years’ new turnaround, but it will go to all lengths in building “smart Sanpower and smart China” together with other members of the Group.
Bu Jiangyong, Chairman of An Kang Tong which has been awarded the 2015 Outstanding Enterprise in Brand Management, gave a speech after receiving the award: Faced with the tough road ahead, we will confront and conquer it. I sincerely hope that the six enterprises in health and senior-care sectors will thrive in 2016.
2015 was the critical year for Sanpower’s capital operation. So the “Excellent Project Award” was awarded. Wu Xingyuan, Assistant President of Sales at Sanpower Group received the award on behalf of Xu Ping, Vice President of Sanpower Group, and delivered a speech. He shared with others the three sentences the Chairman has always been saying: First, we should prepare at an early stage long before we make decisions. Second, there are no hard work and competition if there is no desire for perfection; there are no sages if people don’t strive for perfection. Third, we should stick to “great ideal and great ambition”.
Sanpower is a big family where “established staff can continue making progress and latecomers can continuously integrate into”. Xu Na, Business Assistant to Chairman and candidates of “Excellent Freshman Award” received the award. She said, “We should always implement the philosophy of synergy. In our daily work, we should be patient to listen to the needs of every department and respect everyone. We should also go to extra lengths in our service, sticking to the principle of ‘thinking as a boss and working as an employee.’“
Julie Clark from Brookstone in the USA won the “Excellent Staff Award”. She came all the way from the USA to the venue. She said: 2015 has been a milestone for Brookstone without doubt. If it was not for the great support from Sanpower Group, none of this would happen. I am looking forward to greater successes in 2016.
The development of Sanpower has been attributed to the heard-working established staff. Chairman Yuan Yafei particularly presented the gold company emblems to established staff who had joined the Group 15 years ago or earlier in gratitude for their contributions.
Speech of Chairman Yuan Yafei
At the end of the conference, there was the important part of each conference. Chairman Yuan Yafei delivered an important speech about the reminiscence of the work in 2015 and requirements for work in 2016. The Chairman talked about the achievement and loss over the past year in terms of five items for synergy in management and five sectors in business. He said in 2016, which is the Year of “Implementation and Synergy”, we should enhance synergy during the implementation and speed up implementation during the process of synergy. He specified the implementation of four elements including “capital, management, business operation and brand”, pointing out the principles to stick to, the key work and direction for the work in 2016.
Employees are the key to the development of a company. That is why the requirements for cadres have also been the key point in the Chairman’s speech every year. This year, the Chairman put forward several requirements. In addition to “respect, implementation, understanding and trust” that have always been stressed, he also asked the staff to work for the big picture. He said we should surpass ourselves and be inclusive and just, which is to surpass the ambition of ours and others, be inclusive and just.
In the end, Chairman Yuan Yafei shared with Sanpower people the “four ‘ones’” philosophy: one smiling face, one learning mind, one strong heart and one proud posture. The Chairman’s speech showed foresight and vision, great ideal and great ambition, humour and profound meaning, which earned several rounds of applause of the audience.
Whatever that happened in the past consist the new beginning. 2016 is a brand new year for us. We believe that under the leadership of Chairman Yuan Yafei, all of the staff of Sanpower will work together to create new legends and make Sanpower well known throughout the whole country and the whole world, doing business in the Sanpower way.
