An Kang Tong donates “Push to Talk” devices to senior citizens in Shanghai Baoshan

To provide senior citizens with better health care service at home, the Shanghai Aged Foundation-An Kang Tong, donated 11,000 “Push to Talk” devices to senior citizens in the Shanghai Baoshan District on 21 April. The value of this donation was RMB 2.28 million. These devices are mainly used to call for emergency aid, urgent need, medical consultation and active care services. The donations will allow more senior citizens to make use of the An Kang Tong homecare service system. Leaders from the Shanghai Aged Foundation, Baoshan District Civil Affairs Bureau and the An Kang Tong Company and related head attended the donation ceremony.
Care of the increasing number being senior citizens in our nation has become a problem and a focus of some serious attention. Shanghai is a megacity with the highest level of aged people in China and has been the first to step into the picture and take action. According to the Shanghai Aging Population and Elders Causes Monitoring and Statistics Investigation System, on 31 December 2015, 30.2% of the population of Shanghai were senior citizens over the age of 60. In addition, for some considerable time in the future, 80% of the people who enter old age will be only-child parents, and this makes homecare needs very much more urgent.
To adequately cope with an aging population and improve living conditions, joint efforts are being made by the Shanghai Aged Foundation, the Baoshan District Civil Affairs Bureau, the An Kang Tong Company, Shanghai Aged Foundation-An Kang Tong Fund elders assisting donation project has now been officially launched. Li Ruifa, deputy director of the Baoshan District Civil Affairs Bureau, and Zhao Qingwu, General Manager of An Kang Tong Shanghai, together signed a donation agreement and Zhu Da, director of the Shanghai Aged Foundation, presented a donation certificate to the An Kang Tong Company.
According to the report, Shanghai Aged Foundation-An Kang Tong Fund was established in 2015, supported by the Shanghai Aged Fund and hosted by Shanghai Elder Fund, aiming to push senior care career and take care of elderly vulnerable groups. Since the An Kang Tong Fund was established, it has used “Serve the elders and pass love” as a tenet for their purpose, which is a devotion to the provision of emergency aid, daily care, health management and leisure, and to make the later lives of the elderly easier and happier.
Bu Jiangyong, President of the An Kang Tong Company, said in his speech that they had added Miaoxing Street in Baoshan District in early 2014 and later Youyi, Wusong, and Gucun Streets in the Baoshan District to their service region and had made considerable progress in the senior care and assistance service phases. Now, Dachang, Yangxing, Songnan, Luodian, Yuepu, and Luojing had been added and the Baoshan urban industrial park had also been included. He also said that he hoped to integrate professional medical resources, to provide comprehensive smart senior care services and to add the meagre strength of private enterprise to that of the government to provide more and better senior care.
“This project is a blessing for us in Baoshan. We really have to thank the government and An Kang Tong for their thoughtfulness and consideration.” A senior, Xu Shili said on behalf of the senior citizens of the Shanghai Baoshan District.
Zhang Zaiyang, director of the Shanghai Aged Foundation, and Li Ruifa, deputy director of the Baoshan District Civil Affairs Bureau, also noted that they would join An Kang Tong and the Baoshan District government in an effort to make sure those in charge of the project “Really thought for the elders to help solve their problems”. They praised the work of An Kang Tong and hoped that there would be more cooperation with them in the future to the benefit more senior citizens in Shanghai.
After the donation ceremony, the participating leaders visited the “Home of An Kang Tong” in the An Kang Tong Centre. In the showroom, Zhao Qingwu introduced the Broad Health industry sector of the Sanpower Group in detail and also the one-stop An Kang Tong homecare services. An Kang Tong has 17 years of experience and data from 1.2 million users of their senior care service. The contact center has an independent research information management system and professional elders assistance service group and has integrated their premium social resources to provide comprehensive living security and escort service for elders and community residents. At the Natali China display stand, Zhao Qingwu introduced “Smart Care” (an intelligent implantable homecare system), which holds a leading position at home and abroad. Many of those present tried devices such as the smart crutch, an electrocardiograph and the smart WeChat management hemopiezometer, and discussed implementation of the project.
All the leaders from the Shanghai Aged Foundation and Baoshan District Civil Affairs Bureau showed great appreciation for the An Kang Tong “Internet + Broad Senior Care” industry ecosystem, and further discussion and plans were made about the direction of further development of a future government senior care industry, and everyone noted that they would keep in touch with An Kang Tong and strengthen cooperation in the future.
