On 20 April 2016, the Canadian Consulate General in Shanghai held a dinner party in Nanjing with Guy Saint-Jacques, the Canadian Ambassador to China, Weldon Epp, the Canadian Consul-General in Shanghai, and Jiangsu business representatives in attendance. Yue Lei, Senior Vice President of Sanpower Group, attended the dinner party upon invitation.
Ambassador Guy. Saint-Jacques extended his welcome to the assembled business representatives and introduced the economic status, investment environment and competitive industries of Canada. In recent years, trade cooperation between China and Canada has developed rapidly and China has become Canada's second biggest trade partner. Canada is China's second biggest overseas investment destination, and China’s second biggest trade partner in North America, next to the USA. Against the backdrop of the continuous development of a strategic partnership between China and Canada, Jiangsu has also established a friendly partnership with a number of places in Canada. Ambassador Guy Saint-Jacques hoped that the dinner party could help expand the range of cooperation and encourage more competitive Jiangsu enterprises to go to Canada to collaborate and communicate.
Yue Lei introduced Sanpower’s industry position and development and the group’s global achievements in recent years to Awmbassador Guy Saint-Jacques. He said that Sanpower Group paid close attention to investment opportunities in the health, medical and senior care sectors, and expressed the hope that Ambassador Guy Saint-Jacques would visit Sanpower Group and discuss cooperation possibilities together. Ambassador Guy Saint-Jacques said that he was willing to share Canada's preferential investment policies with Sanpower and invited Sanpower Group to come to Canada to carry out a field visit and research.
