On 18 July, Jiangsu Economic and Information Technology Commission and Jiangsu Federation of Industry and Commerce announced the province’s 2015 Top 100 Private Enterprises List. Compared with the last year, there are 14 new nominees and Sanpower Group has risen one place, ranking 5th with an annual revenue of over RMB 100 billion.

In 2015, the aggregate economic volume of the top 100 private enterprises in Jiangsu Province has a stable increase. The threshold needing be beaten to join the top 100 private enterprises is RMB 9.32 billion, with a RMB 140 million increase compared with that in the last year. The total annual revenue of top 100 private enterprises reached RMB 3,022.1 billion with a year-on-year increase of 10.5%. Average revenue topped RMB 30.2 billion, with a RMB 2.9 billion increase compared with that in the last year. Annual revenues for six private enterprises including Sanpower Group exceeded RMB 100 billion each, with two more companies reaching that dizzying height since last year.

Over recent years, Sanpower Group has complied with the trend of supply-side structural reform. Sanpower Group has focused on big data, built a “troika” of “Broad Finance, Broad Health and Broad Consumption”, and promoted the turnaround and upgrade of domestic industry with overseas M&A activities. This year, with the fruits of overseas M&A activities of Brookstone, House of Fraser and Natali – all touching down in China, Sanpower has upgraded its business and built up strength for further steady development.

“The top 100 private enterprises are bellwethers for private business activity, and have become an important force in supporting and promoting the smooth and steady development of the Jiangsu economy and society,” said a source working on SMEs from the Jiangsu Economic and Information Technology Commission. It is anticipated that the top 100 private firms can further promote supply-side structural reform and continue to expand the advantages of scale, innovation, branding and competitive edge, achieving innovative and transformative development and promoting the creation of an advanced manufacturing base with international competitiveness.
