In recognition of the entrepreneurs who have made remarkable contributions to Xuzhou’s economic development, on February 12, the 1st “Xuzhou Economic Figure of the Year” and “Xuzhou Top 10 Entrepreneurs” Award Ceremony were held at the Conference Center of the Xuzhou Municipal People’s Government. Zhang Guohua, Secretary of the CPC Xuzhou Committee, addressed the ceremony. Zou Tiegen, Mayor of Xuzhou, read the commendation decision.

The entrepreneurs who have made remarkable achievements and contributions in project construction, technology input, reform and innovation, revitalization and transformation under new economic normal were selected.

Yuan Yafei, Chairman of Sanpower, is an entrepreneur from Xuzhou. Over the years, he has founded an international business group far away from home but never changed his love for his hometown. After achieving a success, he brought industrial resources to Xuzhou in support of Xuzhou’s construction. With deep affection for Xuzhou, he has been devoted to Xuzhou’s charity to benefit fellow citizens. In recognition of his idea and practice of reform and innovation, as well as his outstanding contributions to the economic development of Xuzhou and the improvement of the people’s livelihood in Xuzhou, he was named “Xuzhou Economic Figure of the Year”.

As a Xuzhou-born person, Yuan has led Sanpower to the world via a series of M&A activities at home and abroad in recent years, introduced advanced supply chain, technology, service and management systems from abroad, and promoted the transformation and upgrading of domestic industries and the supply-side structural reform. To date Sanpower’s total assets and annual sales have exceeded 120 billion and 130 billion yuan respectively.

Based on Sanpower’s industrial advantage, Yuan has invested a total of over five billion yuan in business circulation, healthcare and other fields in Xuzhou, to promote the innovation-driven development, transformation and upgrading of Xuzhou.

In commerce, Sanpower invested nearly three billion yuan to build Xuzhou Sanpower International Plaza, an urban leisurely complex covering an area of 260,000 square meters, and will introduce overseas M&A projects to enrich Xuzhou’s business types, enhance its overall business image and offer Xuzhou citizens a new shopping experience.

In health and senior care, in August 2016, An Kang Tong in Sanpower's senior care sector signed an operation agreement with Pizhou 12349 Homecare Information Service Platform, to provide all-round and integrated homecare services to 330,000 old people in Pizhou. In 2014, Sanpower was involved in the shareholding reform of Xuzhou Third People's Hospital, and invested over two billion yuan to build a general hospital in northern Xuzhou to greatly improve the medical conditions of local residents.

The hometown is the root forever. At the award ceremony, Yuan said that Sanpower would make an additionally investment of 10 billion yuan in great consumption, broad health and great finance, to make a new contribution to building Xuzhou into a prosperous, beautiful and civilized city.
