On 24 February, Karen Surmon and Ning Jie, respectively Commercial Consul and Investment Director of the Australian Consul-General in Shanghai and Li Zengfeng, Senior Trade Commissioner of the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), visited the headquarters of Sanpower Group. Yue Lei, Sanpower’s Senior Vice President, warmly received the delegation. Gu Juan, Investment Director of the Real Estate Investment Strategy and Management Centre, and Wang Shiyi, Deputy Strategy Director of the Health and Senior Care Strategic Service Management Centre, accompanied the reception.
The three visitors looked around the Brookstone concept store and the Sanpower Corporate Culture Showroom. After learning about Sanpower’s industrial logic, overseas strategy and recent investment and M&A moves, they expressed their admiration for the development and global deployment of the Group.
During the meeting, Karen Surmon gave an overview of tourism, agriculture, mining and other sectors in Australia. Australia is the world’s twelfth largest economy and fourth largest exporter of agricultural products. In addition, it exports the largest amounts of many mineral products, grows the largest number of cage-free sheep and exports the most wool. Since Australia and China established diplomatic relations in 1972, frequent non-governmental exchanges in a variety of fields have taken place between the two sides. The visit to Sanpower Group was to explore cooperation opportunities in the fields of real estate and health care.
Gu Juan and Wang Shiyi introduced the visitors to the Group’s business in the real estate and health care sectors. It is worth mentioning that the day before Karen Surmon’s visit, Sanpower Group had made a further move in precision medicine. The Group participated in an M&A fund to acquire a controlling stake in Find Bio-Tech and officially stepped into the field of genetic testing. Gu Juan and Wang Shiyi told of Sanpower’s intention to coordinate development strategies and deepen cooperation with Australian partners, thereby promoting exchange and cooperation in real estate investment and health care.
