On the 18th of April, Joe Bao, Microsoft’s Vice President for the Greater China Region, Zhang Su, Key Account Manager for the North China Region, and Chen Zhiruo, Manager of the Microsoft Partners and Market Strategy Department, among others, visited Sanpower Group to discuss cooperation on big data and intelligent technologies. Yue Lei, Senior Vice President of Sanpower Group and Vice President Wang Mingyuan received the guests.

The guests visited the Sanpower Family and the Brookstone Concept Store of novelty products and gained a deeper understanding of Sanpower Group’s development and strategy. At the Senior Care Command Centre, the guests learnt about An Kang Tong’s business operation systems and models and tried out smart homecare products. The visitors were impressed the rapid growth of Sanpower.

During the meeting, Yue Lei said that at present and into the immediate future, Sanpower is in a period of transformation in which it is creating linkages between its domestic and overseas business, developingdiverse industries that are mutually complementary, and building an ecosystem for new types of companies. Big data is an important common thread during this process and Sanpower Group attaches great importance to this work, which is why it has established the Big Data Management Department to focus on this area. The first task is to integrate all data in Sanpower’s ecosystem, and then analyse, calculate and interpret it, with the aim of making the data “speak” and produce benefits. In the future, once the basic platform and management logic based on the management of big data have been developed, they may be opened up and extended to partners and wider society to ultimately and gradually realise management sharing, resource sharing and coordinated development based on big data.

Joe Bao said that he admired Sanpower’s rapid growth that was achieved through transformation. In recent years, Microsoft has outlined large Chinese companiesas its key customers. Microsoft hoped to support Sanpower Group’s development and find opportunities to cooperate in the medical, business and finance fields, provide technical support and services, and explore a deepening cooperation together. The guests also invited Sanpower to visit Microsoft’s headquarters in Seattle.

Wang Mingyuan, Vice President of Sanpower, and the Microsoft team discussed the opportunities and markets for intelligent applications, cloud services and big data. Both parties were optimistic about the prospects for cloud services, big data applications and artificial intelligence. Wang Mingyuan said that research on big data might start from Sanpower’s related businesses, perhaps making ‘how to make full use of data related to senior care and medical services’ the theme of the cooperation between the two parties.

During the meeting, the two parties decided to set up a joint working group, convene meetings on related matters and implement cooperation projects as soon as possible.
