On September 25, Sean B. Stein, newly-appointed U.S. Consul General in Shanghai visited Sanpower Group (Sanpower). Yuan Yafei, Chairman of Sanpower received the visitors. Vice President Jing Tian and other executives of Sanpower were present.
According to statistics released by the U.S. Embassy in China, China's investment in the U.S. has directly created 140,000 jobs. The U.S. novelty retailer Brookstone and the biopharmaceutical company Dendreon under Sanpower have created thousands of jobs all together.
At the meeting, Yuan first welcomed Stein. There is huge potential for China-U.S. economic and trade cooperation, especially in fields including biomedicine, and Sanpower will intensify its biomedical operations, said him, expecting that Stein would provide more policy explanations and support to help Sanpower develop better in the U.S. Stein appreciated Sanpower's business operations in the U.S. There is huge potential for China-U.S. biomedical cooperation with the integration of U.S. technologies and the Chinese market, and Sanpower is a pioneer in this respect, said him. He thanked Sanpower for retaining the well-renowned U.S. brand, creating huge social influence, and retaining and creating jobs for locals, hailing Sanpower as a model for other enterprises' development in the U.S.
Prior to the meeting, Jing briefed Stein about Sanpower's business operations and transnational development strategy, and showed him around the Brookstone concept store at the headquarters. Stein was delighted to see his home brand at Sanpower.
In recent years, Sanpower has been well known in the world for boosting the transformation of the real economy based on world experience. It is hoped that Sanpower will communicate with, learn from and work with more international partners to deepen friendly civil diplomacy based on economic construction.
