Nanjing entered a not-so-chilly winter as November came. Under the warm sunlight, Sanpower released its monthly charity report. This month, Sanpower continued to focus on cultural inheritance, green and low-carbon development, environment-friendly life, senior care and employee care so as to carry on philanthropy.
Focus on cultural inheritance
November 12
The Secret Indication of Buddhism Art lecture, which was co-hosted by Council International and Guanshe & Meeting Space and organized by Waking & Art, was held in Guanshe Meeting Hall. Zhang Dase, founder of Waking Art and leader of Art Therapy and Life Growth, and Wang Ziwei, owner of Yanju Hall and Consultant of Beijing Council Buddha Statues Auction shared their understanding of Buddhism, Buddha statues and life with some 30 participants. The lecture, starting with value realization, route selection and life puzzles of modern people, led to the functions of painting and meaning of Buddhism. The participants deeply felt the beauty of traditional Chinese culture and art.
November 18
The Information Office of Nanjing Municipal People’s Government and Nanjing Office of All-people Reading hosted the inauguration of the 4th Book Crossing & Culture Station at HOF in Xinjiekou. House of Fraser set up book crossing shelves for free-of-charge reading on level 1 while placing some crossing books in customer resting area in level 2 and level 3. In this way, citizens in Nanjing can enjoy reading while experiencing the prosperity in the city. Citizens can have a taste of the British book-reading atmosphere and make friends at the same time, making House of Fraser a platform of cultural communication.
November 20
Mobike and the Second Squad of Nanjing Traffic Police organized a promotional campaign on the northern square of House of Fraser on the regulation of bike parking. At the activity, Nanjing traffic police and Mobike co-released the Initiative of Shared Bike Parking Regulation. At the same time, they disseminated knowledge on traffic safety of bikes, calling upon Nanjing citizens to focus on safe riding of shared bikes and regulated parking. This campaign embodied the CSR of House of Fraser. In the future, House of Fraser will make greater efforts to safeguard the city order of Nanjing.
Green, low-carbon and environmental friendly life
November 3
Zhao Ke, initiator of China-Zimbabwe Wild Life Protection Fund and Vice President of Chinese General Chamber of Commerce in Zimbabwe, and his colleagues visited Sanpower, greeted by Sanpower Global Executive Vice President Yue Lei. The two parties made in-depth discussions about Chinese enterprises operating in Zimbabwe. In particular, they discussed about wild life protection, laying a solid foundation for future cooperation.
November 18
The fifth Charity Car Boots Sale was held in House of Fraser Nanjing. The purpose of the activity is to sell handicraft works and idle toys for charity purpose while promoting the green and environmental friendly attitudes towards life. Car boots market is a traditional cultural event in UK, which is new to Nanjing. House of Fraser, as the base of international cultural exchange in Nanjing, hopes to disseminate the Western environmental protection and charity philosophy in Nanjing through diversified methods, conveying the dual meaning of international exchange and charity.
November 30
Council 2017 Autumn Auction set up an Ren Xiaomi exhibition section for SEE Conservation in the preliminary exhibition & auction. By showcasing food ingredients and art, it hoped to convey the charity philosophy of Ren Xiaomi to more people. Since established in 2004, SEE has been working with local government to preserve underground water in agricultural oasis in Alxa. By promoting water-saving crops and water-saving technologies, it pushed forward the making and implementation of water-saving policies to reduce the quantity of underground water used in agricultural activities, promote sustainable agriculture in oasis, realize underground water balance in oasis, deter oasis desertification, rejuvenate health of oasis eco-system, secure ecological protection, and agricultural balance development.

November 2
Labour Union of Nanjing Cenbest set up aBaby Nursing Room beside the medical clinic to provide more considerate service for female employees. In the Baby Nursing Room, there are facilities including sofa, basin, fridge and kettle, and it provides privacy to the users. Female employees can apply for the use of the room if needed.
November 22
Jinpeng social worker provided free medical examination service for the elderly people in Huaying Jinpeng Service Station , which attracted 39 residents. Health and regimen experts shared knowledge of health management and answered questions raised by residents in the community. After the experts’ sharing, the social workers provided free measurement of blood sugar, blood pressure and weight to the residents and checked their auricular point.
