Sanpower Kicks off 2018 Global Talents 100 Workshop

Sanpower Management Academy organized the Group's 2018 Global Talents 100 Workshop (GT100) in keeping with the Group’s efforts to identify and develop leaders required by Sanpower Group for its successful transformation in face of the challenges brought by the era of VUCA (Volatile Uncertain Complex Ambiguous).

On April 20, 56 trainees selected from four countries working for 35 affiliated companies in eight industrial groups and the HR executives from various industrial groups as well as key enterprises in Nanjing arrived at the GT100 workshop. Chairman Yuan Yafei delivered a speech at the launch ceremony of GT100. Sanpower Group's Global Executive Vice President Shi Changyun and Sanpower Group's Vice President Lu Haibo attended the launch ceremony.



Yuan Yafei noted that the outstanding executives of Sanpower Group should be responsible, empathetic, tolerant, loyal, dedicated, perceptive, considerate and inspiring, and have good nose for finding talents to accelerate the sustainable development of the company. Yuan Yafei also urged the trainees to aim for leaderships in their respective disciplines through continuous learning, reflection and improvement.



Cui Chunlan, Executive Dean of Sanpower Management Academy, elaborated the project for the trainees from project background, selection criteria, and introduced the training objectives of GT100— "Cultural Integration, Capacity Enhancement, and Business Synergy" as well as "Responsive Organization" for Sanpower's rapid and sustainable developmentin accordance with the expectation and idea on the talent development in the era of VUCA.




The highly impressive and inspiring innovation experience - "Inspiring Sanpower Group" - officially kicked off phase one of the workshop. The trainees performed African drums in just 3 hours, but with the vibrant drumming of African drums and under the guidance of the enthusiastic and professional teachers, the enthusiasm ofGT100 trainees with different cultural backgrounds was fully stimulated. When the shocking ensemble drums rang through the audience accompanied by wild tribal singing and dancing, every GT100 member at the site had a deeper understanding of teamwork from the bottom of his heart.


Being open and honest is a precondition for better understanding and connection. On the night of the project launch, GT100 trainees shared their personal experiences, childhood stories, success stories and painful experiences. This gave everyone a new understanding and a strong sense of belonging toGT100 team. Then, under the joint creative ideas ofGT100,GT100's exclusive Logo, Slogan, and Sanpower Group's GT 100 song - the rock version of "Sanpower Group Song”- were officially released, marking the launch of GT100 culture fusion.




In the era of VUCA, how to improve the leadership that suits the needs of the development of Sanpower Group is the training theme for the first quarter of Sanpower Group’s global leader plan. The Academy specially invited Shi Changyun, theExecutive Vice President of Sanpower Group, as the instructor of the lecture, and provided the extensive course themed 5E Leadership forGT100 students.


During the two-day course, taking the "Eagle" as the totem of this leadership theme, Shi Changyun led the trainees to extensively and intensively analyze leadership in terms of vision, implementation, stimulation, cultivation and input. At the same time, based on his extensive practical experience and on-site analysis of trainees' own cases, he also elaborated the theoretical knowledge, such as concept and connotation of leadership for all the trainees, and further reflected and planned the actions as to how to improve their leadership and become Sanpower Group’s real “leadership talents” based on their specific practice.



In the tense and substantial three-day event of the first session of GT100, through various forms, the trainees not only learned and experienced from the perspectives of mentor, self and team on how to improve leadership, but more importantly, through proactive exchanges and sharing, have established a sincere connection between each other. They have further recognized the outstanding models and advanced experiences of various industrial groups and enterprises, stimulated their enthusiasm for excellence, and laid a good foundation for the close collaboration in follow-up business. The trainees said that after the brainstorm, the friendly networking and the widening of horizons in the first session ofGT100 training, they were more confident in the future development of the Group company and its subsidiaries.



The closing of the first session of the training for Sanpower Group's 2018 Global Talents 100 Program signifies the start ofGT100’s new journey. All the leading trainees said that in the future, they will continue to work hand in hand to actively implement 5E leadership in the process of realizing the dreams of Sanpower Group, and take a leading role as good “Performance Models”, “Changers” and “Leaders".
