On 31 December 2018, a hiphop-themed musical New Year Carnival for young people launched at “China’s Top 1 Business District” - House of Fraser on Xinjiekou. The youngsters farewelled with 2018 and greeted the arriving 2019 in the trendiest style possible.

 

Even though the temperature on New Year’s Eve had dropped to as low as -5 Celsius, the youngsters managed to heat up the evening, with their waving arms at the city’s most lit New Year Party and their hearts beating to the grooviest tracks and chicest rhythms in the entire Nanjing. This grand party eventually grew to a five-hour carnival that lasted from 19:00 till midnight.

 

The extravaganza also presented the guests an all-star line-up, including B-Box champion Ah-XiN, female rapper JOANNNE, Wilber Pan’s student Fufu, The Rap of China contestant Dayu, and renowned DJ KING ONE.

Additionally, the hiphop dance performance, TikTok band, African American rap sesh and street basketball games also set off endless rows of heat waves at the party. The audience was all having a great time, waving their glow sticks and releasing balloons. Eventually, they all gathered under the English Bell Tower at House of Fraser for the final New Year Countdown.
