Seven participating companies competed fiercely at the foot of Zijin Mountain last autumn. This October, Sanpower headquarters and the “eagles” were competing fiercely in Nanjing. On October 18, 2014, the 4th Sanpower Group Sports Event was held in the big lawn of the headquarters. Sanpower Group headquarters and its subsidiary companies participated in the competition in 8 teams, a total of 500-plus participants including the cheering teams and audience. Yang Huaizhen, Chairman of the Group, Yue Lei, Vice Chairman, Hua Guikan, Executive Vice Chairman, Xin Kexia, Chairman of Hisap, Liang Chuang, Executive Chairman of Hisap and other leaders attended the opening ceremony and cheered for the athletes.

Yang Huaizhen, President of the Group said in the opening speech that the theme of the sports event is “Sanpower Eagles Competing Fiercely in Nanjing”, which means that with the expansion and development of the Group’s international business, the number of Sanpower elites is increasing. Through the sports event, Sanpower elites have the chance to show their abilities, and communicate with each other and deepen their friendship. Though they come from different regions, ethnic groups and industries, they are together for one same goal and mission, which is to develop Sanpower into a great national enterprise for the great rejuvenation of Chinese nation. Chairman Yang hoped that all the staff can keep the fighting spirit of Sanpower, and engage in the sports event with a positive attitude and unity.

With the dance of “Small Apple” staged by five cheering teams, the sports event kicked off with cheering and scream from the audience. The 8 participating teams shouted their slogans loudly and entered the playground in order following their company flags, exhibiting a progressive and positive look of Sanpower staff.

The games continued the style of previous sports events which emphasises funniness, including balancing caterpillars, going through the thick walls, relay up, quick attacks and dynamic five rings etc. These funny games, where the athletes were active and brave, enabled them to feel the importance of unity and cooperation, and provided a different perspective to feel the corporate culture of positivity, self-examination, balance, the core values of the positivity, self-examination, balance, honesty, rationality and kindness, sport spirits of speed, power and passion. The athletes competed for their groups and glories. The competing atmosphere was fierce, and the cheering and laughter were echoed above the playground of the headquarters.

There were thrilling competitions on one side, and on the basketball court of the other side, there was a fierce men’s basketball game of three people. There were aggression, defences, attacks and blocking, which were very exciting. All the audiences were tensed with the progress of the game, and cheered for the wonderful dunks, and felt pitiful for missing a shoot.

One point worth mentioning is that the sports event has innovated promotion in addition to the funniness of previous sports events, which brought many highlights. One week before the sports event, the company launched the electronic torch relay activity, and they held the ignition ceremony of the cauldron on the very day of sports event. All the athletes and audience signed in via WeChat and participated in the electronic lottery with exquisite and practical prizes, which was broadcast on the big screen at the site. The super 7+1 hosting group and the humourous style of 8 hosts added to the appeal of the event.

Two VIP guests’ presence made all the staff excited and surprised. One is Cui Lei, a young jade sculpture master in China, who learned from WeChat that Sanpower Group was going to hold sports event. So he came to Nanjing from Beijing to interact with Sanpower staff, and he also brought one of his great works as a souvenir for the sports event.

In the basketball game in the afternoon, the whole basketball field went crazy when Hu Weidong, the “Chinese Jordan” and his team showed up. All the staff surrounded Hu for photographs and signatures. During the game, Hu acted as a coach and guided the athletes. When the game was finished, he played a friendly game with the top three teams. Hu used his great techniques to respond to the cheering and passion of the audience.

The annual sports event has become an important program for implementing Sanpower corporate culture. Now it has been held for 4 times, and it is greatly supported and attended by increasing staff. Sanpower sports event is an epitome of Sanpower corporate culture, which is full of passion and beauty. It is a wonderful stage to enable the cultural energies which hide inside the Sanpower staff to be released, and Sanpower cultural spirits to be active and continuous.
