The Fifth China Public Service Festival and the “Because of Love” gala of the fifth anniversary kicked off on January 21 and 22. As the most influential annual gala for public service in China, this Festival has invited over 800 outstanding entrepreneurs, philanthropists, scholars specialising in public service, media leaders, super stars and government officials, who got together to celebrate the new trend for China’s public service and pay respect to the people dedicating themselves to public service. With its philanthropic efforts in public service, Sanpower Group was awarded the “2015 China Public Service Awards: Group Award”. Chairman Yuan Yafei received the “2015 Public Service Award for Individuals”.
Established in 2011, China Public Service Festival is the first festival named after “public service” and initiated by various major media organisations in China. Over the past five years, the Festival has always been acting as a witness of people’s efforts in public service as well as a disseminator of the spirit of public service. It has been striving to disseminate the positive and philanthropic power, and make more people pay attention to and participate in public service, in order to facilitate the realisation of the ideal: “all the Chinese participate in public service”.

This time, Sanpower Group received two awards at the China Public Service Festival in acknowledgement of its years of efforts in public service and charity. Over the 23 years since its founding, Sanpower Group has always been sticking to the philosophy that “the Group’s achievement should first benefit the society”. Led by Chairman Yuan Yafei, the entire staff of Sanpower takes practical action to fulfil the corporate social responsibility, promote all Chinese people’s participation in public service and advance the harmonious and healthy development of the society. They have made great contributions in terms of earthquake disaster relief, donations to support poor students’ education, help for the elderly and the poor, public service and environmental protection, and so on, donating a total of over 300 million yuan. In 2013, Sanpower Group set up a volunteer group called “Sanpower Volunteers Society”, using long-term mechanisms and various activities to promote and encourage more Sanpower employees to participate in public service and charity. In 2015, Yuan Yafei was elected Vice President of China Society for Promotion of the Guangcai Program (CSPGP), and set up the Wildlife Protection Foundation together with Prince William, Duke of Cambridge of the UK, starting a new journey for the internationalisation of Sanpower in public service.

With its business development over the recent years, Sanpower’s efforts in public service have also influenced many enterprises that joined Sanpower not long ago. When Zhu Wei, Executive Vice President of Funtalk Telecommunications who received the award on behalf of Sanpower Group was giving an interview to the media, he said that Funtalk Telecommunications established trade unions in its headquarters and 26 subsidiaries all over China. Funtalk’s trade union has always been sticking to Sanpower’s philosophy about public service. It strives for public service by continuously providing help to the elderly, children and other disadvantaged groups as well as those who need help.
Strong enterprises own the present. Responsible enterprises own the future. In 2016, Sanpower will give the same priority to building “Sanpower for public service” as creating the “Sanpower in transformation” and “International Sanpower”. Sanpower’s efforts in public service will surely bring more highlights.
