Axel CRUAU, the Consul-General of France in Shanghai, met with Yue Lei, Senior Vice President of the Sanpower Group at his private residence on 11 April. Also present were Zhong Lei, investment director of the Business France at the Embassy of France in China.
In his introduction, Yue Lei first explained the general development situation of the Sanpower Group. After 2014 and the Sanpower Group’s implementation of their internationalisation and development strategy, overseas business had been expanded to the USA, the UK, the Middle East and other places. France and the UK were the two most important fronts of the Group’s European development. Yue Lei hoped that through this platform, and the bridge between the Group and the Consul-General of France in Shanghai, to strengthen contact, expand exchange and seek investment and cooperation opportunities with enterprises in France.
Axel CRUAU had heard about Sanpower’s recent acquisition of the US company Brookstone. He thought that Sanpower was a passionate enterprise, and he was willing to create investment opportunities, build a business network and provide visa services and so on for Sanpower to promote economic and trade cooperation between China and France.
The Sanpower Group had always focussed on being an enterprise citizen. As an image ambassador of the United for Wildlife (UfW), Yue Lei noted that he wanted to get together with France to discuss cooperation in the protection of wild animals. The aim was to influence people in other regions and nations to also take part and to continuously extend the scope of wild animal protection. Axel CRUAU said that he appreciated Yue Lei’s contribution to public welfare and that public welfare had no boundaries. China and France were engaging in prevention measures against forest degradation and would pay more attention to wild animal protection in the future.
