On 22 June, Liu Jianxing, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Centre of the National Development and Reform Commission led a research team on a visit to Sanpower Group to carry out research on overseas investment. Shang Hongjun, Assistant President and Director of Sanpower Group’s External Cooperation Management Centre, received the guests.
Liu Jianxing and his colleagues first visited Sanpower Home, the Brookstone concept store and the Senior Care Services Command Centre to gain a deeper understanding of Sanpower Group’s five major industries and three major sectors. Liu Jianxing expressed admiration for Sanpower’s business development strategy and the achievements that have been won so far.
During the discussion, Shang Hongjun explained that Sanpower Group is currently developing in three concurrent phases: transformation and implementation, accelerated entrepreneurship, and deepening international expansion. Three core sectors called Broad Consumption, Broad Health and Broad Finance are being developed, revolving around “three combinations”: a combination of “going global” and “bringing in”, a combination of online and offline and combination of business operations and financial services.
Liu Jianxing later enquired about the operational advantages and the acquisition status of Sanpower Group’s overseas M&A projects, namely House of Fraser, Brookstone, Hamleys and CO Group, and Shang gave a detailed introduction of the related issues. Having gained a full understanding of Sanpower Group’s overseas M&A activities, Liu spoke highly of the “unique vision” found in Sanpower Group’s M&A strategy and was full of confidence in the implementation and development of M&A projects in China.
